The first day of school in Pender County for students on the traditional school calendar is Monday, August 26. Opening of school activities are scheduled on the following dates and times:
August 22
- Burgaw Elementary – Open house – 5:00-6:30 p.m.
- Burgaw Middle – Open house - 6:00-7:30p.m.
- Cape Fear Elementary – Open house 4:00-6:00p.m.
- Cape Fear Middle - Open House - 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- Heide Trask High –Freshman Orientation – 6:00-7:00 p.m. Open house – 7:00-8:00 p.m.
- Malpass Corner Elementary – Open House 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- Pender High - Freshman Orientation – 3:00-5:00 p.m., Open House Grades 10-12 –6:00-8:00 p.m.
- Rocky Point Elementary – Orientation in the gym 3:30-4:30 p.m. Open House/Visit Classrooms –4:00-6:00 p.m.
- North Topsail Elementary – EC Open House 3:30-4:30. Open House – 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- South Topsail Elementary– Meeting for parents new to the community, 5:00 p.m., Open House 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Topsail Elementary – Open House 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
- Topsail High - Open House - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Topsail Middle – Open House 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
- West Pender Middle –Open House 5:30-6:30 p.m.
