Toy of The Year for 2012 is Awarded

The Toy Industry Association announced the Toys of the Year during the 12th annual awards event held on February 11.  Several different toy makers were honored for production of outstanding toys.  Consumers, retailers, journalists and Toy Industry Association members voted for the top toys.  The LeapPad™ Explorer by LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. received the coveted “Toy of the Year” title and was awarded Educational Toy of the Year and Preschool Toy of the Year.

Other award winners were:

  • LEGO® NINJAGO FIRE TEMPLE by LEGO Systems, Inc. won Activity Toy of the Year
  • HOT WHEELS® WALL TRACKS™ by Mattel, Inc. won Boy Toy of the Year and Most Innovative Toy of the Year
  • FIJIT FRIENDS™ INTERACTIVE FIGURES™ by Mattel / Radica® won Girl Toy of the Year
  • ANGRY BIRDS KNOCK ON WOOD GAME by Mattel, Inc. won Game of the Year
  • ELEFUN BUSY BALL POPPER by Hasbro / Playskool won Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year
  • ROCKBOARD® SCOOTER – MINI by M.Y. Products LLC won Outdoor Toy of the Year
