Many children love to help their parents prepare food in the kitchen. Food preparation and cooking can teach children many useful skills and offers parents special time for bonding.
Curious Chef offers a line of kitchen tools and gadgets made just for little hands. My three year old daughter and I had the chance to experience cooking with the 16 piece Cupcake and Decorating Kit. This kit includes a 6 cup muffin pan, 6 colorful silicone cupcake liners, silicone spoon, frosting spreader, and a frosting decorator with 6 uniques decorating tips. The tools are sturdy and well-made.
My daughter has helped me bake before, but having a chance to use her own tools was very exciting. She especially loved the frosting decorator which was easy for her to use and allowed her to express her creativity with the variety of tips. When she wasn't pleased with the results of the decorator, she simply used the spreader to create a smooth frosting surface.
The tools are all dishwasher safe. I chose to hand-wash the decorator tips to keep them from getting lost in the dishwasher and they came clean very easily. These tools are also BPA-free.
These tools would make a great gift for a budding baker!
