My daughter has recently become interested in having tea parties. Therefore, I have been on the lookout for a great tea set for her. There are many different types on the market and some of them are just for make believe tea parties as they are not appropriate to drink out of.
I was aware that the tea sets made of tin and plastic would be the most durable. However, I have heard about tin tea sets eventually rusting when exposed to liquids and am always leery about putting anything hot in plastic due to its potential to leach chemicals.
Although it is breakable, I set out on a quest to find a porcelain tea set that would make the perfect gift for my 4 year old daughter. I knew she would be able to drink out of the tea cups and I wouldn't be worried about rusting or leaching of chemicals.
I was happy to discover Schylling's Children's Tea Set. It is a porcelain tea set that has everything you need to have a small tea party. The set is painted in beautiful bright colors and comes with 13 pieces: 4 nice-sized teacups, 4 saucers, 1 tea pot with lid, a cream pitcher and a sugar dish with a lid. The set doesn't seem as fragile as some other porcelain tea sets I have seen, but must be used with care as it is breakable.
The tea set retails for around $20 which is a great value for a quality product!
