Teacher Gift
During the holidays many parents and children like to show their appreciation for teachers by giving them a gift. However, with December being such a busy month, parents often stress about what to get teachers and wind up spending a lot of money gifting multiple teachers.
Teachers are typically quite appreciative of any gift, no matter how much money was spent on it. As a teacher, I can vouch that a heartfelt card or a student-made gift are some of the most treasured. However, if you want to give a gift, it can be done for $5 or less. Here are 5 gifts that would make any teacher smile:
- Gift cards: A $5 gift card to a teacher's favorite fast food restaurant or coffee shop is always a quick and easy gift.
- Office supplies: Most teachers love supplies such as pens, Post-It notes and markers and we can always use extras!
- Magazines: Teachers are usually busy reading textbooks, planning for daily lessons or grading student work. Reading a magazine would be a nice alternative to school work over the holidays!
- Puzzles, cards or games for the class: This may not seem like a gift for the teacher, but when there is a rainy day and students cannot go outdoors for recess these items can be a sanity saver for teachers!
- Non-edible homemade gifts: One of my favorite gifts that a student ever gave me was a frame they decorated with colorful buttons. There are so many ideas available on Pinterest that parents can choose the level of difficulty for DIY gifts.
If you decide to give teachers food you may want to purchase it at the local bakery or grocery store. Most teachers are leery of eating food that comes from student's homes and therefore a lot of it gets thrown away.
