Babbabox
BabbaBox is a monthly subscription box for children ages 3-7. Each box contains hands-on materials designed to inspire creativity with a link to literacy.
As a mother and a teacher, I am always excited to check out children's subscription boxes that connect children with literature and challenge their creativity. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a BabbaBox and discovered that these two components are part of each monthly kit.
Each month a new theme is delivered. The kit that I got was called "My Amazing Adventures". The "explore" portion of the kit involved making a photo magnet via Shutterfly. The directions were simple to follow and codes were given to make the magnet free and shipping free. Within a week the magnet arrived and we were able to create adventure puppets in which the magnet of my daughter's face could be attached to 4 different bodies that she decorated. These puppets are great for puppet shows and storytelling.
Another creative component of the kit was a set of pictures for the child to color and mount. Little "people" from the kit could be added to the scenes. These pictures prompted my daughter to develop many stories about what she would do in the various scenarios.
One of my favorite pieces of this subscription box is the inclusion of a story book. The "Adventures" kit had a book called Henry's Amazing Imagination which was a great story of a little mouse that used his imagination to tell amazing stories. It is always easier for young children to tell stories when they have heard many good examples.
The company also offers many DIY ideas, parenting tips and recipes on their website. Overall, my daughter and I really enjoyed the box and will use the components again. The prices for the subscription range from 19.99 -29.99 a month.
