Angel of Hope
The Angels of Hope 2012 calendar is underway as local children, ages 4-12 years “receive their wings” and help raise funds for Women of Hope. Women of Hope is a multi-faceted charitable organization that focuses on women and women's cancers and provides education to women of all ages about the importance of health awareness and their bodies.
Angels of Hope is a calendar that Kenny Barnes Studio produces from participation of local children being photographed as little angels at one of four settings; studio gardens, a local church, beach, and downtown Wilmington.
After children are photographed, parents select their favorite image that Kenny Barnes will paint, adding their wings for the calendar. There is no purchase requirement and no session fees but parents are asked to consider making a donation to Women of Hope at the time of viewing the images.
All images will be painted by August 30th, and the month of September will be dedicated for voting. The votes are $1.00 each and parents are encouraged to raise monies for Women of Hope by soliciting votes for their child's portrait. The top 12 images that receive the most votes will be featured in the 2012 Angel of Hope Calendar, and the "cover image" will be the angel portrait with the most votes.
In October, the calendars will be ready to purchase for $12.95 each and will be available at the Kenny Barnes Studio, various business locations and by local organizations. A donation of $2.00 per calendar will support the work of Women of Hope. Last year the first Angels of Hope event raised nearly $2,000.
