Teenagers can be tight-lipped when it comes to talking about school. Instead of asking your teen "how was school today?" try one of these questions:
- What is one thing that you learned today?
- What is your easiest class or hardest class/why?
- What is the most exciting/saddest/most unusual thing that happened today?
- If today had a theme song, what would it be?
- Who did you help today? Who helped you today?
- If you could choose to only go to one class each day, which class would it be?
- What do you think your teachers talked about in the staff lounge after school today?
- If you could be invisible at school one day, what would you do?
- Which one of your classmates will most likely be a millionaire one day?
- Which part of the day do you look forward to? Which do you dread?
