Fairy Tale hair care
School has been back is session for a few months now and students have begun to share everything from snacks to viruses. Germs can be kept at bay with preventative measures such as hand washing. I also just learned about a product that may keep lice away from your child's head.
I happened upon a line of products called Rosemary Repel made by Fairy Tales Hair Care, a company that has been around since 1999. My first thought was that the product must smell awful to keep bugs away. My second thought was that it must be loaded with chemicals to repel lice.
I decided to get some samples of the products so that I could see for myself if they would be something I'd use on my child. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised when the Rosemary Repel products came in.
First of all, they don't smell awful. In fact, the smell is quite pleasant. I have never been a fan of perfume or strong artificial smells, but these products smell natural which reflects the herbs that are used to make them.
Secondly, I was happy to learn that the products contain no harsh chemicals, pesticides or toxins. They are also paraben and sulfate-free. The products do contain organic herbs and Vitamins A,B and E, passion flower, aloe, jojoba, rose hips, sage, cherry bark and chamomile. The combination of these helps to nourish the hair while creating a layer of protection.
In an independent study it was found that Rosemary Repel products used individually repelled 71-92 percent of the lice from treated hair strands. When used in combination, the hair care line can be 100% effective. Five products in the Rosemary Repel line include: shampoo, creme conditioner, leave-in spray, hairspray and gel. The leave-in spray is handy as you can simply spritz it on your child's hair daily before school.
I tried the products on my daughter and myself and have been pleased with the results. The shampoo and conditioner left our hair soft and manageable while the leave-in spray made it easy to brush through my daughter's tangles.
