Thanksgiving
Whether it is Thanksgiving, Christmas or some other family celebration there always seems to be plenty of leftover food. Don't be afraid to get creative with your left-overs. Here are some ideas to upgrade your left-overs and offer your family a tasty way to eat them.
Mashed Potatoes: This holiday favorite can be easily turned into baked potato soup with the addition of a little milk and some toppings. Add enough milk to a bowl of mashed potatoes to get the right consistency for you. Then, warm up the soup and add shredded cheese, bacon bits and chives to the top to make a delicious meal for cool nights.
Cranberry Sauce: Whether you like the berries or the jellied version of this treat, either can be used as a spread on biscuits or toast. The berries also make a great addition to hot cereal such as oatmeal.
Stuffing: Stuffing, also known as dressing can be reinvented as stuffing for mushrooms. Simply cook some large mushroom caps, combine the leftover stuffing with some Parmesan cheese and fill the mushroom caps. Bake for about 15-20 minutes and you'll have a yummy appetizer.
Turkey and Rolls: Combine some leftover turkey and dinner rolls to make fabulous sliders. Make sure to stuff the roll with turkey and a complimentary cheese such as muenster. Place the sliders in the oven until the cheese has melted and then enjoy.
