Four family movies are on their way to theaters in March. Here is an overview of what to expect on the big screen.
Jack the Giant Slayer will arrive in theaters on March 1st. This movie is loosely based on the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. It is the story of an ancient war between giants and humans that is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand, opens a gateway between the two worlds. Jack fights for his world and the love of a brave princess. This action film is not for small children due to many battle scenes but would be good for older kids that enjoy this genre. This movie is rated PG-13.
Oz the Great and Powerful will open in theaters on March 8. This film tells the tale of how a small-time circus magician was transformed into the great Wizard of Oz. From his humble beginnings in Kansas to his adventures in Oz, this story is about the journey of one man and his rise to greatness. This movie is rated PG for sequences of action, scary images and mild language.
The Croods will be in theaters on March 22. This animated film by DreamWorks is set in prehistoric times. It follows the world's first family on an adventure of a lifetime that teaches them about their world's amazing creatures and spectacular landscapes. This movie is rated PG for some scary action.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is coming to theaters March 29. This 3-D action film is based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe toy. In this sequel to the 2009 G.I.Joe film, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to deal with threats from within the government that jeopardize their existence. This movie is not intended for young viewers due to fighting and battle sequences. It has not yet been rated.
