Spring is just around the corner and so are the following family films:
Mr. Peabody and Sherman is coming to theaters on March 7. This animated movie is based on the cartoon segment “Peabody's Improbable History” which was part of the 1960s variety cartoon series The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show. In this movie, Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. The movie is rated PG for mild action and brief rude humor.
Muppets Most Wanted will be in theaters on March 21. This movie follows the Muppets on a global tour, selling out theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting cities. However, the gang finds themselves entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine, a frog with an uncanny resemblance to Kermit. The movie has a star studded cast and is rated PG.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, coming to theaters on April 4, is a great choice for families with older children that are fans of super heroes. In this sequel, Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier. This movie is rated PG-13.
Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, an IMAX 3-D documentary, arrives in theaters on April 4. In this film Morgan Freeman narrates the incredible true story of nature's greatest explorers – lemurs. This film is rated G.
Rio 2, the sequel to Rio, hits theaters on April 11. In this movie, Blu and Jewel return with their three kids. The movie takes place in the Amazon where Blu tries to fit in. He must also go beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all – his father-in-law. This movie has not yet been rated.
Bears, the latest documentary from Disneynature, arrives in theaters on April 18. This film, narrated by John C. Reilly, explores the life of bears living in Alaska's coastal mountains and shores. The documentary showcases a year in the life of two mother bears as they impart life lessons to their impressionable young cubs. This film has not yet been rated.
