Dinner can be a cultural experience for your family with the Hungry Globetrotter. Monthly food boxes with an international flair set Hungry Globetrotter apart from other food subscription services.
Subscribers receive a box of ingredients such as spices and seasonings along with simple to follow recipes to make one complete meal. Most recipes require meats and produce that you may already have in your pantry and refrigerator.
Japanese dinner was the theme of the Hungry Globetrotter box that I received. I was pretty excited to get a Japanese themed box as I enjoy the food but never have felt confident enough to try to make the cuisine on my own. My kit included a soy sauce made in Kentucky, yuzu ponzu sauce made in Japan, 4 packages of instant Miso soup, black sesame seeds and a Japanese spice called sichimi togarashi.
The Miso soup was simple to make since it was instant and made a nice starter to the meal. The grocery list to make the other 2 dishes (a salad and chicken dish) was included and didn't require any hard to find ingredients. There were actually only 3 ingredients on the list that I didn't already have in my pantry or fridge.
Te preparation and cook time for the salad and chicken was about 1 hour and twenty minutes and there was nothing complicated involved in the preparation. The finished meal was flavorful and healthy. My picky 4 year old even enjoyed the Yakitori chicken.
At the cost of $34.95 a month you can expose your family to new dishes from around the world. To learn more about Hungry Globetrotter's World Dinner Club visit http://www.hungryglobetrotter.com/
