trick or treat
Children love Halloween because it is a holiday all about the treats. However, many parents find that after the holiday there is entirely too much candy in the house and that temptation is not good for kids or adults. Although little ones love sweet treats, there are great alternatives that can be given to trick-or-treaters in place of candy. Here are ten alternatives to candy for Halloween treats:
- Stickers
- Temporary tattoos
- Pencils or erasers
- Bouncy balls
- Marbles
- Plastic animals
- Rubber/plastic bracelets
- Coins
- Plastic rings (spiders are fun for Halloween)
- Homemade play dough (in a small plastic bag)
If you still want to hand out edible treats but are searching for a healthy alternative to candy, you can give out small boxes of raisins, pouches of pretzels or Goldfish crackers or natural fruit leathers.
Parents will be thankful for these alternative treats mixed in with the traditional candy that kids collect.
