Healthy Kids Day
On Saturday, April 28, the City of Wilmington and the YMCA are partnering to present Healthy Kids Day at Empie Park. Healthy Kids Day is the nation’s largest health day for kids. This is a free community event that will offer families the opportunity to participate in active play and educational opportunities designed to improve health and wellness. As part of the Y’s and City’s commitment to strengthening community by addressing critical gaps in health and education, Healthy Kids Day will encourage kids and parents to commit to keeping the body and mind active now and throughout the summer.
Families will enjoy a free, family event with goals to encourage healthy lifestyles and active living.
Activities include:
- Tennis, Soccer, and Basketball sports stations to include fun challenges and prizes
- Fantasy face painting
- Kids Zumba, Yoga, and Bootcamp
- Bicycle Obstacle Course plus 50 free helmet giveaways
- Free Health Screenings
- Health Education Booths
- Farmer's Market
- Special Guest Appearances by Harry the Dragon, the Wilmington Seadawgs and Seadolls, Wilmington Tigers, UNCW Women's Tennis Team, and more…
