Thalian Association Childrens Theatre
Music Man Jr.
The Thalian Association Children’s Theater kicks off their 2014-2015 Season with Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, Jr. The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, whose belief in Harold’s powers just might help him succeed in the end in spite of himself.
This Thalian Association Children’s Theater production features 40 of Wilmington’s brightest young stars with a creative team consisting of: Mike Thompson (Director), Katie Aulletti-Smith (Choreographer) and Rasa Love (Music Director). 76 Trombones (...or close to) will take the stage September 12-21, at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center, 120 South 2nd Street in downtown Wilmington. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7PM; Sunday matinees at 3PM. Tickets are available at thalian.org or by calling 910-341-7860.
