Cape Fear Academy Performing Arts 'Chicago' Commercial
Produced by CFA students, under the direction of Ben Fancy, for Chicago.
Cape Fear Academy Upper School Drama Department is proud to present Chicago by Fred Ebb, Bob Fosse and John Kander March 28 – 30 at Historic Thalian Hall, 301 Chestnut Street, Wilmington, NC
“A story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation ...and treachery. All those things we hold near and dear to our hearts.”
In roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie Hart murders her faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap - until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream” - fame, fortune and acquittal.
This presentation, directed by David Loudermilk, will also include a pit band of Cape Fear Academy student musicians, directed by Rebecca Best.
