"IT STARTS WITH A VOICE" Benefit Concert for the Special Olympics' "Spread the Word to End the Word" will take place, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 8pm at Thalian Hall. Broadway veterans, Amy & Ben Wright will be joined by Kendra Goehring-Garrett for an evening of Broadway music that culminates with the world premiere of the Wright's new song, "It Starts With a Voice." The song and concert are part of the Wright's mission to advocate for the rights of people with intellectual disabilities and to help spread a message of inclusion and acceptance.
The song, "It Starts With a Voice, " will be available on iTunes the day after the concert. 100% of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to Special Olympics' "Spread the Word to End the Word." (*Spread the Word to End the Word is a campaign to raise awareness of the hurtful effects of the word “retard(ed)" and encourage people to pledge to stop using it.)
