The Carolina Renaissance Festival, held in Huntersville, NC, runs each weekend from October 3 through November 22. The event boasts 25 acres of entertainment, artisans and period-specific eateries within a medieval village. Visitors are transported back in time as they enter the gates and can spend an entire day enjoying themselves in what feels like a theme-park.
Entertainment consists of:
- comedy acts, acrobats, musicians, storytellers, magicians and puppeteers performing throughout the day on 12 stages
- three jousting battles daily
- hundreds of costumed characters meandering through the streets of the village
Arts and crafts are located throughout the village include:
- pottery
- clothing
- glass blowing
- jewelry
- armor
- candles
Fun and games abound with:
- human-powered rides for children
- a maze
- archery
- Jacob's ladder
- tests of strength
- throwing tomatoes at a heckler
A wide variety of food and beverages are also available for reasonable prices.
The festival hours are 10am-5:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays during the festival. Tickets are $23 for adults and $11 for children with discounts available for seniors and military personnel.
