Now is a great time of year to stock up on school supplies. You can find free items, items for a few cents each and deeply discounted items at many office supply stores and department stores.
The best place to start is checking weekly sales flyers. These can be found in stores, in the newspaper and online. Make sure to read the fine print on these adds as some require that you fill out and send in rebates to get the savings. Others require that you buy a certain amount of merchandise to get the special sale prices.
The discounts at many stores are so good that they will only allow you to purchase a limited number of the item at the special price so make sure you know what the limitations are. You can always go back to the store another day if you want to pick up more of the specially priced items.
Some stores offer price matching in which they will match the price of an identical item advertised in a competitors published ad. Check with your favorite store and see if they offer this matching option. If they do, you could bring in the ads from other stores and just purchase all of your items at one store which will save you gas money!
Make sure that you stock up on school supplies while they are at such wonderful low prices. Most likely you will not find them priced this low at any other time during the school year!
