Sunsnapz
Every mother knows the importance of making sure you have everything for your baby when you leave the house. I always thought it would be nice if I could consolidate the items in my diaper bag and carry less. One local mom has made this idea a reality with a product called Sunsnapz. Julia Jacobson, the creative mind behind Sunsnapz, began the company in 2012. She and her husband had a baby and were having a hard time finding a multifunctional product that would protect their baby from the sun while also being environmentally friendly. She set out to develop a product that is "versatile, practical, affordable, easy to use, while guaranteeing sun protection anytime and anywhere."
Sunsnapz looks like a blanket with snaps, however, it is much more than a simple blanket. The product can also be used as a stroller shade, nursing cover, carrier cover, car seat canopy and much more. The unique snap system allows you to snap it together in a variety of ways and also allows for it to be snapped together with another Sunsnapz blanket to provide even more shade when needed.
Every Sunsnapz product is made of a unique soft, tightly woven, weighted cotton/spandex fabric designed to block out the sun's harmful rays. It is not chemically treated. The fabrics surpass the maximum UPF rating of UPF 40-50+. This means that the UPF fabrics block more than 97% of UVA and UVB even after two years wear and tear. These special blankets are made here in the USA.
Sunsnapz blankets come in a variety of colors and 2 different sizes. The prices are between $39 and $49. Considering all the functions that these blankets can provide and the fact that they are manufactured in the USA, the price is unbeatable! The blankets can be purchased online at www.sunsnapz.com or bought locally at Peanut Butter and Jelly, Dragonflies and Green Baby Diaper Service.
Not only is Sunsnapz a great product for sun protection, but the company is also dedicated to helping fight skin cancer in other ways. During the month of May a portion of the company's earnings is donated to AIM at Melanoma in honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to win the battle against skin cancer.
