Take a look at the label of traditional potato chips and you will notice a long list of ingredients that you may not even be able to pronounce. For those seeking a more natural snacking option, Simply 7 may be the chips for you! The goal of the company is to produce delicious snacks with simple ingredients. They follow seven core standards when making their products. Those include making products that:
- have 0 grams of trans-fat and no cholesterol
- contain no artificial ingredients or flavors
- have no additives or preservatives
- are made with gluten-free ingredients
- have all-natural recipes
- have simple ingredients
- are simply delicious
Simply 7's line of chips include a variety of flavors in Hummus Chips, Lentil Chips and Pomegranate Chips. I was a bit skeptical when trying the chips and wasn't sure if I would like them . However, upon trying the hummus and lentil varieties, I discovered that natural chips can be very satisfying and are better for you. The texture is not quite as crunchy as some other more traditional chips, but instead a bit puffy. I would describe the texture as a cross between a potato chip and a cheese puff. I enjoyed the idea of more natural ingredients and also like the fact that the chips are much lower in fat than traditional chips.
Each bag of Simply 7 chips retails for anywhere between $2.50 and $3.49 and can be purchased at locally at Harris Teeter and Whole Foods.
