doterra oils
doTerra is a company based in Utah that produces and distributes pure therapeutic grade essential oils. The company sells their products through independent distributors and online. doTERRA is becoming synonymous with quality among dedicated essential oil users. In addition to offering basic oils, they also offer useful blends of oils. Upon trying out some oils in their Home Essential Kit, here are a few of my favorite uses.
Diffusion: Using the diffuser that came with my kit, I freshened the air in the house with a few drops of lemon and peppermint oils. I also have recently used the diffuser at night in my daughter's room. She was feeling a bit congested so I used Breathe (a blend of laurel leaf, peppermint, eucalyptus, melaleuca, lemon, and ravensara) in the diffuser. She rested well and didn't wake up at all during the night.
Making Skin Care Products: Sugar and salt scrubs are a simple solution to exfoliating dry skin and I love to make these for my family and to give as gifts. Making these scrubs is simple and the essential oils add a subtle scent to these beauty products.
Alternatives to Over-the-Counter Medicines: The blend called DigestZen (a blend of Ginger, Peppermint, Tarragon, Fennel, Caraway, Coriander, and Anise essential oils) proved to be a big help when I had a touch of indigestion.I simply added a drop of the oil in my glass of water.
Another blend called Deep (a blend of blue wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, German chamomile, helichrysum, and osmanthus essential oils) can be mixed with coconut oil to make an ointment for sore muscles and achy joints. I plan on whipping up a batch of this natural remedy for my husband after his next rugby match.
