Smoothies are a fun treat that most kids love for breakfast, snack or dessert. This recipe is great for kids who tend to pass on green vegetables. A smoothie is a great way to sneak in some extra fiber and nutrients into your children’s diet - the spinach gets chopped so fine that the kids won’t even know it is there!
Banana Berry Smoothie
Ingredients
- ½ cup low-fat yogurt (i.e. organic French Vanilla)
- 10 baby spinach leaves*
- ½ banana
- 3 or 4 ripe strawberries (or ¼ cup blueberries)
- ½ tablespoon of flaxseed meal (or whole flaxseeds)
- A splash of juice (any kind works fine)
- 1 or 2 cubes of ice
Directions
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, recipe makes a single serving of a delicious, healthy smoothie.
