St. Patrick's Day is a great opportunity to create fun food and crafts with your children.
Here is a basic recipe for one of the most famous St Patricks Day, adapted from several recipes as well as some sites on the web for other treats and crafts.
Corned Beef and Cabbage
Ingredients
- 1/2 package of pearl onions, or 1 chopped onion
- 1 small package of baby carrots
- ½ lb. creamer or fingerling potatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- One clove of garlic - smashed
- Bay leaf
- 1 small cabbage cut into wedges
Directions
Place vegetables and garlic on bottom of crock pot. Place corned beef brisket on the top. Add broth and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over top of brisket. Add bay leaf. Cook on low 8 hours or 6 hours high. During the last hour of cooking add cabbage.
