Review:
I went to see the show today with my 4 year old daughter and we both enjoyed it thoroughly. For a production put on by a community theater group, I was very impressed. The scenery, props and costumes were all beautiful and in no way seemed to be "low budget". The actors and actresses did a superb job in the delivery of their lines and singing. I especially loved the musical talent of Bryan DeBose as the Beast, while my daughter insisted that Sidney Nobles (Belle) had the most beautiful voice.
The performance lasted about 2 and a half hours (with a 15 minute intermission between Acts 1 and 2). Typically this would be a long time for small children to sit but my daughter and the small children around us were enthralled. The combination of the upbeat songs and dance numbers with the wit of the dialog makes this a show that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages. It is definitely worth the ticket price to see this amazing show.
I know that I will keep my eye out for upcoming shows put on by the Brunswick Little Theatre company.
