In partnership with the Watson College of Education, New Hanover County Schools and Roland-Grise Middle School (RGMS) will present the 3rd annual Gifted Information Sessions & Advocacy (GISA) series of informational sessions for all New Hanover County Schools parents and caregivers.  These sessions focus on the characteristics, needs, support strategies and enrichment opportunities for gifted learners.  Dr. Edward Caropreso, coordinator of the Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Program  at Watson College, and Elin Reuben, RGMS gifted education specialist, will lead the sessions with the support of education professionals from across the region and state.

The sessions are intended to help parents/caregivers deepen their understanding of their gifted child and giftedness as it pertains to many aspects of his or her life.  Each session will typically include a presentation reflecting a different topic with time at the end for dialogue.  Participation is encouraged and students are welcome to attend with their parent/caregiver.
