I have been hearing about Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet from everyone.  Friends, family and students have all been raving about the great selection and affordable price of Wilmington’s newest buffet-style restaurant.  So, I finally decided to check it out and see if it is worth all the hype.

Upon entering the restaurant, my 3 year old daughter was entranced by a large display of mini fountains and lights in the foyer area.  I was impressed by the large foyer and set-up of the restaurant.  All food stations are in the middle and the seating areas are on each side far enough away from the food to give you the feeling of being in a typical dine-in eatery and not a buffet-style restaurant.  There are many colorful lights and the tasteful Asian décor includes pictures, stained glass and sculptures.  Music of the Far-East is played to compliment the dining experience.

We were seated quickly and told to help ourselves to the buffet after our drink orders were taken.  The buffet area consists of several hot bars which feature a large variety of Chinese and even some American cuisine, a fruit and salad bar, dessert bars (including a scoop your own ice cream station).  There is also a sushi station in which you can watch as sushi is being made from fresh ingredients.  The Hibachi station is also not to be missed.  You choose your own protein and veggies along with rice or noodles and the Hibachi chef cooks it to order adding whichever seasoning you choose.  There is truly something for everyone, even picky eaters!  The food was mostly tasty, but as with any hot bar, there were some dishes that seemed to have been sitting under the heat lamps too long and were a bit dry.

I will say that the price is definitely right at this restaurant.  The dinner buffet, which is available from 3:30 PM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday and until 10:30 PM on Friday costs $8.99 for adults.  Children ages 3-6 eat for $4.55 and children ages 7-10 eat for $5.75.  These prices also apply to Sundays when the dinner buffet is available from 11 AM- 10 PM.  Lunch is an even greater bargain.  The lunch buffet is available Monday through Saturday from 11 AM until 3:30 PM and the cost for adults is $6.59.  The cost for children ages 3-6 is $2.35 and for ages 7-10 the cost is $4.35.  Drinks are not included in the buffet price.  They are available for and additional cost of $1.69 each.

The restaurant is fully equipped to handle family dining, even including a baby changing station in the restroom.

Families looking for a wide selection of food to satisfy everyone coupled with a great value should check out Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet.
