Inexpensive

The small, locally-owned restaurant is conveniently located near the corner of College Road and Shipyard Blvd. When we arrived, we were able to get a table quickly. The friendly waitress took our drink orders and invited us to make our way to the fresh food bar which has over 35 tasty ingredients including vegetables and proteins. My daughter enjoyed looking at all of the ingredients and choosing the ones she wanted for her dinner.

Upon choosing our ingredients for dinner, we proceeded to the grill area where the fun really begins. After choosing from 17 different sauces* and determining if you want rice or noodles, the upbeat cooks begin to combine and stir-fry your meal. My daughter was delighted to watch her food sizzle and simmer on the hot grill. The process from filling the bowl with raw ingredients to being handed a bowl of yummy stir-fry took less than ten minutes which is perfect for impatient or hungry youngsters.

The dining room is decorated with bright colors and fun fixtures and there is music playing in the background to create a pleasant atmosphere. Of course, the sound of the grilling is always present but was not an unpleasant sound.

Meals are quite affordable at Flaming Amy’s Bowl. The all you can eat stir-fry is $7.50 during lunch hours (11AM-5PM). After 5PM, the price goes up to $8.95 for dinner. Children up to age 10 eat for $3.95 all day. There are daily specials and discounts that include $1.00 off all bowls on Wednesday and kids eat for 99 cents on Sunday after 5PM for family night. The restaurant also offers a 10 percent discount to the following groups: police officers, fire and rescue workers, teachers, students, senior citizens and active military.

The restaurant is fully equipped to handle family dining, including a baby changing station in the restroom.  They are open seven days a week from 11Am-10PM.

Families looking for healthy dining in a fun and upbeat setting should try Flaming Amy’s Bowl. It’s an enjoyable way to get your kids to eat their veggies!

*Flaming Amy’s Bowl offers sauces that are gluten-free, soy-free and sugar-free for those with special dietary concerns.
