9am-1pm. Stanley Rehder Garden, 3800 Canterbury. The Flytrap Frolic is a free community education event featuring native and endemic carnivorous plant species that thrive in southeastern NC. Activities include a plant identification scavenger hunt, flytrap-themed crafts, feely-box exploration presented by NC State Parks, and live reptile and bird demos, Halyburton Park, the Carnivorous Plant Society, and others. Participants will have a chance to tour the garden and learn about the wondrous wetland ecosystem that is home to these unique, native carnivorous plants. New this year, our Americorps Member has coordinated with partner groups (NC State Parks and Airlie Gardens) to develop new carnivorous plant activities. Come join the fun!
