Syndey and Wrightsboro Elementary Art Teacher, Bronwen Guthrie, were recognized at an award ceremony at the Renaissance North Hills Hotel in Raleigh recently. Sydney was awarded a certificate of achievement and a cash prize of $50. Ms. Guthrie received a certificate for her support of the competition. Sydney’s work will appear in upcoming PENC publications.
Each year, PENC selects winning entries from elementary, middle, and high school submissions. The goal of this competition is to highlight the hard work of North Carolina’s visual art teachers and their students.
